Groceries I bought at BJs Wholesale & Easy To Make Meals

Hey everyone! So yesterday was Memorial day and it kind of threw me off. I bought a handful of groceries on Friday and planned my menu and as I was writing it down, it dawned on me- share it on the blog!

groceries

I was doing Menu Plan Monday posts for awhile but then things all shifted with my grocery shopping. I stopped couponing for a couple months just to take a break and breathe while ending one coupon blog to turn into a simple living lifestyle type blog.

Now I am back to couponing and am mainly shopping at BJ's for my groceries.  Before I was shopping between three stores for groceries and household products- Tops, Aldi and BJ's– once in awhile Target only when items were super cheap.

Now that our grocery budget has some margin in it– I'm finding it easiest and the same price for items with much less hassle at BJ's.

Don't get me wrong I still keep an eye out for my freebies and snatch those up at other stores when I see them. But running the blogs is pretty much a full time job and I have been running from store to store for the best deal only with a $60 a week grocery budget for three years.

I'm loving shopping at one store for my grocery and household needs.

So I'll share my menu with you this week. A huge reason we were able to stay on such a low grocery budget in the past was meal planning. I made every single meal from scratch.

It's a lot more work and it's not easy for everyone- but once you find the perfect balance it's well worth it.

Maybe you cut back the amount of nights you go out to eat. Or you grab a frozen dinner one night instead of eating out. Cooking your own meals doesn't have to be difficult. If you are brand new to meal planning and want an inexpensive app to plan your meals for you and give you a shopping list- I highly recommend Real Plans.

If you want to know how I went from store to store on such a tight budget because you want to cut back the grocery spending- I always used these coupon matchup lists. These lists are taking items on sale PAIRED with any coupons, and app rebates to give you the best deal. Print free coupons right here.

You need to only buy items that are on these lists. Even at BJ's try to only buy items that have a BJ's coupon.

This isn't the cheapest menu item at BJ's but it's fun to see what others are cooking with ingredients from BJ's!

This isn't everything I bought to use to make me menu but it is the main ingredients. I stocked up last week on more items that are not listed here. If I continue to do these weekly you will be able to see what we buy from week to week.

This is to give new members an idea of what they have and some dinner ideas that you can make.

I write my menu out on a little marker board each week. Sometimes in my planner as well.

So here is my weekly menu:
