How I Turned a BJ’s $5.99 Pumpkin Pie into Two Desserts!

Who doesn't love a good pumpkin pie during the fall season? I know I do! But sometimes, a whole pie can be too much for one person or even a small family.

So, what do you do with the leftover pie? Well, folks, I have found the easiest and cutest pumpkin pie hack that will turn your leftover pie into two delicious desserts!

And the best part is you only need a few simple tools and ingredients. Let me share how I turned a BJ's $5.99 pumpkin pie into two desserts!

I made a video not intending to write a blog post about it, so of course I only took TWO pictures. Our little mini pumpkin cakes don't have whipped cream because we put that on before serving. I find that the whipped cream at Aldi tastes the best and is the best price.

Step 1: Cut all into the pumpkin pie using your cutter

The first step is to cut out shapes from your pumpkin pie using a small sandwich or biscuit cutter. This will create cute little pumpkin shapes that you can use for your dessert.

I used a small sandwich cutter on hand, but a biscuit cutter would work best. Cut out as many shapes as you can from your pie.

We had to push hard with our cutter because it was a bit smaller, but it still worked. Then, carefully push out your mini pumpkin pie from the crust end.

Step 2: Mix the leftover pie filling

Now that you have your cute little pumpkin shapes, it's time to use the leftovers from your pie! Take the leftover pie filling and toss it into your mixer.

Mix it all up until it becomes a smooth and creamy filling. If you have a circle baller to scoop out the filling, that works great, but we didn't have one, so we used silicone muffin cups instead.

Step 3: Freeze the pumpkin filling

Once your leftover pie filling is mixed and ready, scoop it into the silicone muffin cups. We used paper straws from the Dollar Tree that we cut in half. I couldn't find the white sticks anywhere. I was also shopping two days before Thanksgiving so it was crazy out.

We put the sticks right in the middle.

Place them in the freezer for 30-40 minutes until they become firm. This step is crucial to ensure that the pumpkin filling holds its shape when dipped into the melted chocolate.

Step 4: Dip in white chocolate and sprinkles

After the pumpkin filling has firmed up, it's time to dip it into melted white chocolate. Melt your white chocolate in the microwave or over a double boiler.

Dip each pumpkin cake into the melted chocolate, then roll it in your favorite sprinkles. We used rainbow sprinkles but choose whatever you have on hand. Once the chocolate has hardened, your pumpkin cakes are ready to serve!

Step 5: Top with whipped cream and enjoy!

Just before serving, top your little pumpkin cakes with whipped cream. This adds an extra layer of yumminess to the dessert. Your pumpkin cakes are ready to impress your guests or enjoy as a fun and easy treat for the kids!

Turning a BJ's $5.99 pumpkin pie into two desserts has never been easier! Using simple tools and ingredients, you can create cute, delicious pumpkin cakes perfect for any fall event.

This hack is a great way to use leftover pies or a fun way to switch it up this season. I hope you try this recipe and enjoy it as much as I did! And if you have any leftover pie, you know what to do with it!
