My children get SO excited for Saturday shopping at BJ's. They love to help Mom with coupons, and wait ever so impatiently to make our way across the club to the food section where…
** insert exuberance, twirling, singing, excited chatter and “are we there, yet!?” haranguing here. **
Many times they bicker about who is going into the club with Mom on free sample day. They keep accurate account of who went last. I have many volunteers, which makes my average shopping trip double in length. Even though I leave exhausted, I'm happy the kids had some free entertainment. I tell myself they are learning good economics, nutrition, and appropriate social skills in a public setting. Important life skills, no? Learning around the clock is my motto. 😉
The hard part is ushering them past the Subway and Dippin' Dots, exclaiming there is nothing to see there! Move along!
When we say goodbye to the door associate, she lovingly hole punches the receipt for the kiddos. Sometimes there is even a sticker as a bonus ending for them! Who knew that a family could have so much fun while taking care of errands.
After we unload the groceries and put it all away, we have an easy dinner to save my sanity.
