  1. We use a fake tree with lights already installed on it. Although I love the smell of pine, it’s a hassle to clean up all the needles that fall from a real tree (not to mention the struggle of lugging it home).

  2. We have a fake pre lite Christmas tree. We used to get a real tree then switched. I have essential oils for the scent. I do miss my real tree but enjoy the convenience of the pre lite fake tree.

  3. This is our 3rd year using a fake tree but I went out and got a 9 footer today because the 7’ wasn’t big enough. I miss my big real trees but between having a Great Dane and not having to vacuum needles all year afterward, I’m learning to appreciate the fake pre-lit variety. They’re a lot nicer than when I was a kid.

  4. After years of getting real trees and breaking out in a rash after putting the lights on, I came to the conclusion I was allergic. We now have a beautiful, pre-lit Christmas tree and I love it!

  5. we always had a real tree I love the smell but now I cannot justify spending that money on the real tree for just a month so we use a fake tree that was handed down to us and it’s really a very nice tree so I can’t complain I just put some Evergreen branches in the house to get the scent in my home

  6. Real tree!! Always had one as a child cutting it down with my dad and continue the tradition with my own kids. Love walking in the house to the smell of fresh cut pine 🌲

  7. We have a fake one. We dont have a lot of room and the one we have is tall but slim. Found it after xmas a few years ago for $10.

  8. We have a fake tree. I have had The same one for about seven years. I didn’t put it up for the last five years, But this year I am pulling it out and we are baking and decorating cookies and making our tree beautiful.

  9. If I won these — I would have to get a tree. Hubby didn’t want to buy another one after we moved and somehow lost half of it… so we are tree-less. This could make him get one for next year 😀

  10. Real. We have a tradition on my husband’s side. We go to a tree farm near his aunt and uncle’s house every year to cut it down. Then we go back to their house to hang out. I love it!

  11. Due to allergies I have to use an artificial tree. The real trees are SO expensive I cannot really justify the cost either. Plus, as several have mentioned, the FL lifestyle doesn’t do the trees a lot of good. Also being older,I just cannot handle getting down to water the tree or clean up the mess.

  12. We always have a fake one although real ones are pretty, I don’t like spending the money to turn around and throw them away and they are messy.

  13. We use an artificial tree. But, you can’t see much of it due to all the ornaments. 1 from my 1st Christmas (69yrs), a special one each Christmas for each grandchild, shows something happening in their life each year. Our grandchildren are 14, 11, 9, 8, & 7. So many ornaments. When each turns 21, they get all of their ornaments to put on their own trees for years to come. If I win these 100 ornaments, they’ll be given away, with our old artificial tree that we replaced last year to someone who doesn’t have one.

  14. I would love a real one but we travel out of state so I just don’t want to come home to a dead tree. We put up our artificial tree last weekend.

  15. We had to get rid of our fake tree last year – so this year we will probably do a small real one and then buy a fake one when they are on sale after christmas.

  16. I use a real tree. Sure it’s a pain to put up by myself and to clean up the needles. But my son loves it and you can’t beat that smell!!

  17. Growing up we always had a real tree. I said I would never buy a fake tree but with a little one and not a lot of
Space we bought a fake tree. Once we have a bigger place we’ll buy a real tree.

  18. I go to my dad’s house around the holidays for about a month, I don’t put up decorations. I have been collecting some over the years for when I do put them up. I would buy a fake white tree. I love the blue, silver, and white look compared to the traditional green trees. My family has always had a fake tree and it was the fun of putting it together that made Christmas the best. That tree is not around anymore as the colors on the limbs have faded completely. Plus no one remembers how it went together, so we have downsized to a 3 ft table tree.

  19. I absolutely LOVE a real tree and I hate that we had to switch to a fake one when we moved to Florida. The trees just aren’t fresh enough to buy here and we will be traveling before Christmas and again right after so we are probably better off with a fake.

  20. We’ve always had a fake tree. The Real ones never seem that fresh by the time they make it down to Florida and sit in the heat and humidity.

  21. My family does both. We have a real tree that we decorate at home. We spend Christmas at the beach and use an artificial tree there.

  22. We get a real tree, usually from a local nursery. One day we may go to a Christmas tree farm and chop one ourselves.

  23. I am doing a small fake tree this year! ITs better I do that’s because my to daughter and her son and large dog has moved in! The dog is into lots!

  24. We just purchased a prelit artificial fake tree. While I love the real trees, with the kids grown, it just takes too much time.

  25. We always have a fake tree 🌲 but my tree looks so real it was hard to tell it was fake. Love having a tree trimming party with the family

  26. WE have a fake tree. It is the same tree we have had for 5 years. When I was a kid we had the same tree for my entire childhood, so I hope to at least tie that record!!

  27. I love the idea of a real tree but its more convenient to have a fake tree! We can set up the fake tree whenever and we only paid for it once 🙂 I do, however, light an evergreen yankee candle to help make it feel more festive hahaha because that is the best part of a live tree!

  28. Good Morning, we will be cutting down a real tree, typically we do it after Thanksgiving. 🙂 Thanks for asking!

  29. Sadly I had to switch our primary tree from real to fake due to allergies. I really don’t like pulling my tree out of a box. 🙁

    • Prefer a fake tree, just gave away my white one ,gone back to green and a little bigger, had a real one for 1 year, total disaster, not sure if I want to go that route again lol.
