If you’re hosting Thanksgiving this year, BJ’s can be one of the easiest places to knock out a huge portion of your shopping list in one trip.
From turkey and mashed potatoes to pies, appetizers, drinks, disposable plates, foil and even the trash bags you’ll need afterward, there are plenty of BJ’s Thanksgiving buys that can save you both time and money.
I’ve been shopping at BJ’s for years, and Thanksgiving is one of those times when having a warehouse membership can really come in handy—especially if you’re feeding a crowd.
Below is my BJ’s Thanksgiving shopping list for 2026, including what I’d buy, what you can skip making from scratch, and a few things people always seem to forget.
Looking for the 2026 BJ’s turkey deal? I’ll update this post with BJ’s Thanksgiving turkey prices, coupons and any free turkey promotion as soon as this year’s offers are released.
Not a BJ’s member yet? BJ’s is currently offering a $10 one-year membership deal for a limited time. Check out the current BJ’s membership deal before paying full price.

Now let’s get into what I actually think is worth buying at BJ’s for Thanksgiving.
1. Thanksgiving Turkey
Of course, we’ll start with the star of Thanksgiving dinner: the turkey.
BJ’s typically carries several turkey options during the Thanksgiving season, including fresh and frozen choices. The exact brands, sizes, prices and availability can vary by club.
If you’re shopping early, check your freezer space before buying one of those giant warehouse-club turkeys. Ask me how I know.

What Will BJ’s Turkeys Cost in 2026?
As of September 2026, I’m not listing a Thanksgiving turkey price yet because I don’t want to give you last year’s price and pretend it’s this year’s deal.
I’ll update this section once BJ’s releases its 2026 Thanksgiving turkey pricing and promotions.
Bookmark this page if you’re waiting for the turkey deals.
2. Watch for the BJ’s Free Turkey Promotion
BJ’s has offered free turkey promotions around Thanksgiving in previous years.
These offers can change from year to year, including the qualifying purchase amount, dates and how members redeem the free turkey.
As soon as BJ’s announces its 2026 free turkey offer, I’ll add the full details here.
If you’re planning a large BJ’s shopping trip anyway, this is definitely a promotion worth watching.
3. Ham and Other Thanksgiving Main Dishes
Not everyone wants turkey—or maybe your family is large enough that you need a second main dish.
BJ’s is also worth checking for:
- Spiral ham
- Beef roasts
- Pork
- Chicken
- Seafood
- Other holiday-ready meats
If you’re serving both turkey and ham, buying larger sizes at BJ’s can make more sense than buying several smaller packages elsewhere.
4. Premade Mashed Potatoes
This is one of my favorite Thanksgiving shortcuts from BJ’s.
We’ve bought the premade mashed potatoes several times, and everyone liked them. The best part? They can go right into the microwave.
Thanksgiving already involves enough cooking. I have absolutely no problem letting BJ’s make the potatoes. 😂
This is especially helpful if you’re hosting and only have so much oven and stovetop space.
5. Stuffing
Whether you make stuffing completely from scratch or use a boxed mix as your starting point, BJ’s is worth checking.
If your family goes through a lot of stuffing, buying larger packages can be much more convenient than grabbing a bunch of individual boxes at the grocery store.
Don’t forget the broth, butter, celery and onions if they’re part of your recipe.
6. Gravy
Put gravy on your list now because this is exactly the kind of thing you realize you’re missing when the turkey is already out of the oven.
Even if you’re planning to make homemade gravy, I like having a backup on hand.
Thanksgiving is not the day I want to discover my homemade gravy isn’t cooperating.
7. Green Bean Casserole Ingredients
If green bean casserole is a Thanksgiving requirement at your house, BJ’s can help with the bulk ingredients.
Look for things like:
- Green beans
- Cream soup
- Crispy fried onions
- Butter
- Seasonings
This is another category where buying larger sizes makes sense if you’re feeding a big family.
8. Sweet Potatoes
Whether you make sweet potato casserole, candied sweet potatoes or something completely different, add them to your produce list.
And don’t forget the extras your recipe requires—brown sugar, marshmallows, pecans, butter or whatever makes your family’s version the one everyone fights over.
9. Cranberry Sauce
Fresh, homemade, canned—I am not getting involved in your family’s cranberry sauce debate. 😂
But put it on the list.
BJ’s carries a large selection of Thanksgiving grocery staples, so this is a good category to check while you’re picking up the rest of your sides.
10. Dinner Rolls
Dinner rolls are an easy thing to forget because we’re all so focused on the turkey and sides.
Check the BJ’s bakery and bread section for rolls that will work with your meal.
And buy enough for leftover turkey sandwiches the next day. That’s arguably the best part of Thanksgiving anyway.
11. Butter
You will use more butter than you think.
For the turkey.
For the potatoes.
For the rolls.
For the vegetables.
For baking.
This is one of those Thanksgiving ingredients where buying a larger package at BJ’s can actually make a lot of sense.
12. Thanksgiving Appetizers
If your guests are arriving hours before dinner, have something for them to snack on.
BJ’s usually has plenty of easy appetizer options, and this is an area where I would absolutely take some shortcuts.
Look for:
- Cheese
- Crackers
- Dips
- Meat and cheese trays
- Frozen appetizers
- Nuts
- Fresh fruit
- Veggie trays
You do not need to make every single thing from scratch.
13. Charcuterie Board Supplies
BJ’s is one of my favorite types of stores for building a charcuterie board because you’re already dealing with larger packages.
Grab a couple cheeses, crackers, meats, nuts, fruit and maybe something sweet.
It looks impressive and keeps everyone out of the kitchen while you’re trying to finish Thanksgiving dinner.
14. BJ’s Thanksgiving Pies
Do yourself a favor and at least look at the bakery before deciding you’re baking every dessert yourself.
BJ’s Thanksgiving selection includes desserts and holiday pies, and the bakery is one of my favorite places to save myself some work during the holidays.
We’ve had the pecan pie with whipped cream, and it’s always a hit.
Depending on what’s available at your club, you may find:
- Pumpkin pie
- Apple pie
- Pecan pie
- Sweet potato pie
- Cheesecake
- Cakes
- Other seasonal desserts
Selection can change throughout the season.
15. Whipped Cream
If you’re buying pie, don’t walk out without whipped cream.
This sounds ridiculously obvious until Thanksgiving Day arrives and someone asks where it is.
Put it on the list now. 😂
16. Drinks for a Crowd
Beverages are another category where BJ’s makes a lot of sense when you’re hosting.
Depending on your crowd, consider:
- Bottled water
- Soda
- Sparkling water
- Juice
- Coffee
- Tea
- Creamer
- Wine
- Beer
- Other holiday drinks
If you’re having overnight guests, remember that you’ll need drinks for more than just Thanksgiving dinner.
17. Coffee and Creamer
Speaking of overnight guests: coffee.
Buy the coffee.
And probably more creamer than you think you’ll need.
After cooking Thanksgiving dinner and getting up for Black Friday, you’re going to be glad you did.
18. Disposable Thanksgiving Plates and Napkins
I’m all for a beautiful Thanksgiving table.
I’m also all for not spending the entire night washing dishes.
BJ’s usually carries larger packages of plates, napkins, cups and other entertaining supplies that can be helpful when you’re hosting a crowd.
Even if you use your regular dinnerware for the meal, disposable plates are great for dessert and leftovers.
19. Aluminum Foil
This belongs on every Thanksgiving shopping list.
You’ll use aluminum foil for cooking, covering dishes, keeping food warm and sending leftovers home with family.
Grab it before Thanksgiving week so you’re not standing in your kitchen staring at an empty cardboard roll.
20. Plastic Wrap
This is actually one of my favorite boring things to buy at BJ’s.
I love buying my plastic wrap there because the larger rolls last forever.
And Thanksgiving is exactly when you’ll be glad you have plenty of it.
21. Food Storage Containers
Leftovers!
Have containers ready before everyone starts asking if they can take some turkey and mashed potatoes home.
You can also pick up disposable food containers if you don’t want your good storage containers disappearing with relatives until Easter.
22. Trash Bags
Not glamorous. Absolutely necessary.
Thanksgiving produces a shocking amount of trash.
Grab heavy-duty garbage bags while you’re at BJ’s so you’re not dealing with an overflowing kitchen trash can after everyone leaves.
23. Paper Towels and Cleaning Supplies
While we’re talking about boring but necessary purchases, check your supply of:
- Paper towels
- Dish soap
- Dishwasher detergent
- Sponges
- Disinfecting cleaner
- Trash bags
The last thing you want to do Thanksgiving night is discover you have one dishwasher pod left.
What Should You Buy at BJ’s for Thanksgiving?
The items that make the most sense to buy at BJ’s will depend on how many people you’re feeding.
If you’re hosting a larger group, I’d especially look at BJ’s for:
- Meat
- Premade sides
- Appetizers
- Cheese and crackers
- Drinks
- Bakery desserts
- Butter
- Disposable tableware
- Foil and plastic wrap
- Paper products
- Cleaning supplies
Those are the categories where larger quantities can be particularly helpful for a holiday gathering.
If you’re cooking for only two or three people, be more selective. A warehouse-size package isn’t a bargain if half of it gets thrown away.

My Favorite BJ’s Thanksgiving Shortcuts
If I were trying to make Thanksgiving easier without making everything feel store-bought, I’d pick a few things to make from scratch and let BJ’s handle the rest.
My shortcuts would be:
Premade mashed potatoes: We’ve bought them several times and everyone liked them.
Bakery pie: One less thing taking up oven space.
Easy appetizers: Put out cheese, crackers and a dip instead of making three elaborate appetizers.
Dinner rolls: Buy them. Thanksgiving has enough going on.
Then spend your time making the dishes your family actually cares about.
Nobody is handing out awards for making every single Thanksgiving dish from scratch.

How to Save Money at BJ’s for Thanksgiving
Before you shop, check the current BJ’s digital coupons and promotions.
I also recommend making your entire Thanksgiving list before you go into the club. BJ’s is not the place I want to wander around hungry with no plan two days before Thanksgiving.
Compare unit prices on items you won’t use in bulk, and don’t buy something just because the package is huge.
Most importantly, watch for holiday-specific BJ’s promotions as we get closer to November. I’ll update this post as the 2026 Thanksgiving offers are released.
When Should You Shop at BJ’s for Thanksgiving?
Don’t try to buy everything in one trip the day before Thanksgiving.
I like splitting the list into two groups.
Buy early: canned goods, stuffing, beverages, paper products, foil, plastic wrap, cleaning supplies, baking ingredients and anything frozen.
Buy closer to Thanksgiving: turkey if buying fresh, produce, bakery items, refrigerated sides, dairy and other perishables.
That also makes the final Thanksgiving shopping trip much less overwhelming.
