Some nights I don’t mind spending time in the kitchen, but other nights everyone is hungry, we’re running behind, and I realize I haven’t given dinner a single thought.
Those are the nights when having a few easy meal options on hand can save you from ordering takeout.
Sam’s Club has plenty of foods that work especially well for busy weeknight dinners. Some are completely prepared for you, while others are shortcuts that can be turned into several different meals with very little effort.
The trick is buying foods you’ll actually use. A giant package isn’t a bargain if half of it ends up going to waste.

If you’re looking for easy Sam’s Club dinner ideas, these are some of the foods I’d put on the list.
Also, in 2026, with how high prices are for taking your family out to eat, I find grabbing easy prepared frozen or fresh meals at Sam’s is still cheaper than taking my family of four out to dinner.
Want to try Sam’s Club? Right now, you can grab a Sam’s Club membership for just $25. If you’ve been thinking about joining, this is a great time to check it out. Get the $25 Sam’s Club membership deal here.
Availability and prices can vary by Sam’s Club location.
1. Member’s Mark Seasoned Rotisserie Chicken
It’s hard to beat a rotisserie chicken when you need dinner quickly.

Sam’s Club currently sells its Member’s Mark Seasoned Rotisserie Chicken as a ready-to-eat option, making this one of the easiest starting points for several different meals. Still under $5 near us too!
Don’t think of it as just chicken with a couple of sides, either.
One chicken can become:
- Chicken tacos
- BBQ chicken sandwiches
- Chicken quesadillas
- Chicken Caesar wraps
- Chicken and rice bowls
- Chicken noodle soup
- Chicken pot pie
- Buffalo chicken flatbreads
This is one of those purchases I’d make even if I didn’t know exactly what we were having for dinner yet.
Strip the leftover meat from the bones while it’s still easy to work with and refrigerate or freeze it for another meal.
Easy dinner idea: Rotisserie chicken + bagged salad + rolls = dinner with almost no prep.

2. Member’s Mark Five Cheese Tortellini
This is exactly the kind of food I like having around for a night when I need something filling but don’t want to make an elaborate meal.
Sam’s currently carries Member’s Mark Five Cheese Tortellini in a two-pack of 24-ounce packages. The pasta is filled with five cheeses and can be cooked from frozen in just a few minutes.

Member’s Mark Five Cheese Tortellini $10.53 · Sam’s Club
That two-pack is especially useful because you don’t necessarily have to commit the entire bulk-sized purchase to one dinner.
Serve it simply with marinara and garlic bread, toss it with pesto and vegetables, or turn it into a tortellini soup when the weather gets cooler.
Easy dinner idea: Tortellini + jarred marinara + frozen broccoli + Parmesan.
3. Member’s Mark Rotisserie Chicken Enchiladas
This one is for the nights when even assembling dinner sounds like too much work.

Sam’s currently offers Member’s Mark Rotisserie Chicken Enchiladas in its prepared-food section.
Add rice, beans, corn or a simple salad and you’ve got a complete dinner without having to make enchiladas from scratch.
I especially like prepared meals like this for busy seasons when you know ahead of time that certain nights are going to be chaotic.
Rather than telling yourself you’ll cook anyway, plan for the chaos.
4. Member’s Mark Italian Style Beef Meatballs
Frozen meatballs are one of my favorite freezer shortcuts because you’re not locked into one type of meal.

Sam’s currently carries a six-pound bag of Member’s Mark Italian Style Beef Meatballs.
Six pounds is a LOT of meatballs, though, so I’d only recommend this if your family eats them regularly or you’re willing to divide up the bag.
Use them for spaghetti one night, and meatball subs another. They can also go into soup, be served with mashed potatoes or become an easy appetizer-style dinner with vegetables and dipping sauces.
This is where buying in bulk actually works: you can take out exactly what you need and leave the rest frozen.
Easy dinner idea: Meatballs + marinara + mozzarella on sub rolls.
5. Member’s Mark Chicken Alfredo
Sometimes the shortcut can just be the entire dinner.
Sam’s Club currently carries a family-size Member’s Mark Chicken Alfredo in its prepared-food department.
This is the kind of meal I’d grab when I know we have a particularly busy night coming up.
You could serve it exactly as it comes, but adding a salad, steamed broccoli or another vegetable makes it feel more like a complete meal without adding much work.
I’d also rather intentionally put something like this in the refrigerator for a hectic night than spend considerably more on takeout because I didn’t have a plan.

6. Member’s Mark Southern Style Chicken Bites
If you’ve got kids — especially kids who suddenly announce they’re starving — frozen chicken bites are hard to beat.

Sam’s currently carries three-pound bags of Member’s Mark Southern Style Chicken Bites in its frozen section.
You can obviously serve them as chicken bites, but they’re much more useful than that.
Put them over salad. Make chicken wraps. Toss them in buffalo sauce. Add them to a rice bowl. Put them on top of waffles. Use them for a quick chicken sandwich.
That’s what I look for when buying convenience foods in bulk: Can I use this more than one way?
If the answer is yes, I’m much more likely to actually finish the package.
7. Member’s Mark Chicken Pot Pie
When the weather starts getting cooler, this is exactly the type of dinner I want.
Sam’s currently offers a large Member’s Mark Chicken Pot Pie in its prepared-meal department.

This is less of a “meal ingredient” and more of a “please don’t make me think about dinner tonight” purchase.
And sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
You could serve it with a simple salad or vegetable, but honestly, the appeal is that most of the work is already done for you.
It’s also a good option when you’re feeding several people and want comfort food without making a pot pie from scratch.
8. Member’s Mark Rotisserie Chicken Bites
Here’s another chicken shortcut I really like because you aren’t limited to one meal.
Member’s Mark Rotisserie Chicken Bites are fully cooked pieces of chicken breast seasoned with rotisserie-style seasoning. Sam’s currently carries them in a two-pound package.

Member’s Mark Rotisserie Chicken Bites $11.48 · Sam’s Club
These are great when you want the convenience of rotisserie chicken without having to pull apart an entire chicken.
Use them in salads, wraps, pasta, quesadillas or grain bowls.
I’d also keep this one in mind for lunches. A convenience food earns bonus points around here when it can solve both lunch and dinner.
9. Member’s Mark Broccoli Cheddar Soup
Soup is another shortcut that can become a meal with very little effort.
Sam’s currently carries Member’s Mark Broccoli Cheddar Soup in a two-pack of 32-ounce containers.

Pair it with grilled cheese, crusty bread or sandwiches and dinner is done.
This is especially nice heading into fall when soup-and-sandwich nights start sounding good again.
You could also serve smaller portions alongside baked potatoes or a salad rather than using the soup as the entire meal.
10. Member’s Mark Marry Me Chicken With Tortellini
This is one of the more interesting prepared meals I found currently at Sam’s.

Member’s Mark Marry Me Chicken with Tortellini is currently part of Sam’s easy-to-prepare meal assortment.
If you’ve seen the “Marry Me Chicken” recipes all over Pinterest, this is essentially the convenience-food version of that creamy chicken-and-pasta dinner idea.
For a busy weeknight, I’d pair it with a vegetable or salad and call it done.
It’s also a nice alternative if you’re getting tired of the same pizza/chicken nuggets/tacos rotation but still don’t have time to cook something elaborate.
11. Member’s Mark Macaroni and Cheese
Mac and cheese isn’t necessarily dinner on its own, but it can make dinner a whole lot easier.
Sam’s currently carries prepared Member’s Mark Macaroni and Cheese by the pound.

Pair it with rotisserie chicken and vegetables, serve it alongside pulled pork, or turn leftovers into another meal.
This is another place where I’d think about combining Sam’s Club shortcuts rather than buying a completely prepared dinner.
For example:
Rotisserie chicken + prepared mac and cheese + bagged salad
You’ve essentially created a family meal without actually cooking the individual components.
And on a Wednesday night, I’m perfectly fine calling that a win.
12. Member’s Mark Southwest Chopped Salad Kit
Don’t overlook the salad kits.
Sam’s currently carries a Member’s Mark Southwest Chopped Salad Kit, and this is exactly the kind of item that makes some of the other foods on this list much more useful. It’s under $3 by us!

Add rotisserie chicken, and you’ve got dinner.
Add chicken bites, and you’ve got dinner.
Serve it alongside enchiladas, and you’ve got dinner.
That’s why I like keeping a few versatile foods around rather than buying seven completely different prepared meals.
You’re still taking shortcuts, but you have enough flexibility that everyone doesn’t feel like they’re eating the same thing all week.
The Sam’s Club Dinner Shortcut I’d Use Most
If you’re trying to save money, I wouldn’t fill your entire cart with prepared meals.
Convenience can get expensive — even at a warehouse club.
Instead, I’d choose a few versatile staples that can be mixed and matched.
My basic formula would be:
Easy protein + vegetable + simple carb = dinner.
A rotisserie chicken, frozen chicken bites or meatballs can become the protein.
A salad kit or frozen vegetable handles the vegetables.
Then add rice, potatoes, pasta, tortillas or bread.
You still get the convenience of a shortcut without paying for a completely prepared meal every single night.

Don’t Let Bulk Buying Create More Food Waste
This is the biggest thing I’d keep in mind when shopping at Sam’s Club.
Something isn’t automatically a better deal because the package is bigger.
Before putting a bulk convenience food in your cart, ask yourself:
Will we realistically eat all of this?
Frozen foods are generally easier because you can use what you need over time. Refrigerated prepared foods require a little more planning.
For larger families, some of these packages may disappear quickly. Smaller households may want to portion and freeze foods when appropriate rather than waiting until they’re about to expire.
The goal isn’t to buy the most food.
It’s to make dinner easier without wasting money.
Are Sam’s Club Prepared Foods Worth It?
For me, the best way to think about prepared food isn’t simply comparing it to the cost of cooking everything from scratch.
Of course cooking from scratch can often be cheaper.
The better comparison on a crazy weeknight might be:
Sam’s Club prepared dinner vs. takeout for the whole family.
That’s when having an easy meal waiting in the refrigerator or freezer can make a lot of sense.
You don’t need convenience food every night.
But having two or three options available for the nights when your dinner plans fall apart can save time, stress and potentially money.
And sometimes getting everybody fed without having to figure out one more thing is worth quite a bit.
