  1. Ok so I am a little late dealing with this but I have 2 bottles of this recalled sanitizer and the website noted says to return it to BJ’s for a refund and BJ’s website & letter says to get a refund from the manufacturer. This screams scam and irresponsibility.

  2. I applied for rhe refund/ recall for the two bottles i purchased bur as of yet i havent heard anything or recieved anything

  3. I bought 5 bottles of blumen sanitizer from BJ’S club and on this site there is nothing that says refund,so how do u apply for the refund ?

  4. I purchased 10 bottles and went to the website to get a refund. after I entered the required information, they are giving me credit for one bottle, payable after they do all their paperwork, in 6 to 8 weeks. Why does BJ’s ask us not to return them to the store?

I suppose I should try to return them, but my wife, a nurse, is afraid to go anywhere in public for the time being,

    • Thats strange. I have no idea why BJs isn’t. The thing is some BJs clubs are accepting and giving a refund. Members and employees have shared that tip in our FB group.

  5. I have three bottles of Blumen Clear Advanced Hand Sanitizer, 17oz (UPC: 814266024096). How do I get refund for this item? And how do I get ride of IT?

  6. Just a comment on the “other” BeSafe brand sanitizer available at BJ’s. It stinks like stale cheap tequila. I had to wash it off my hands after using it because the smell made me gag. Don’t buy it.

  7. I am returning this to BJ’s and demanding a refund. I will speak to the manager and make a scene if necessary (nothing too dramatic, but I’ll get my point across). Blumen didn’t sell this to me, BJ’s did. Take responsibility for what you sell…

  8. I checked the appropriate numbers and the two I purchased do not match. Supposedly that means the two I have are okay to use, HOWEVER, the FDA recommends not using any products from this company. Seems made in Mexico is like purchasing from China. I won’t be using this product regardless. The letter says not to return the BJs but some branches are taking them back. Why the confusion? Corporate should have put forth a directive that would apply to all branches. I am glad to have received the letter and subsequent phone message. I do not feel confident in this company/product and will not use it.

  9. I tried to bring my 3 bottles back to the Portland Maine store and was told that I had to go through the manufacture and was given a piece of paper with a website for Bluman which doesn’t work, it’s a dead site. The paper also says the manufacture will confirm the lot number and send a refund, but we would have to dispose of the product. What’s the best, safest, way to dispose of this stuff? Dump it down the sink or on the ground, I’m sure some will, doesn’t seem to me like either Bluman or BJ’s really cares that much about where the likely thousands of bottles of this toxic stuff ends up in the environment. I did finally find the recall lot number list on another site and the lot numbers for the products I purchased are on the list. Very disappointed in the way BJ’s is handling this; my family like many literally spend thousands of dollars a year at their store, no way to treat loyal long time customers; maybe time to consider switching to Sam’s Club.

    • This is such a bummer. I have NO idea why they are so inconsistent with this recall. In our Facebook group many BJs managers have said their store is taking the bottles back and giving a full refund. I’m not sure why there is such an issue with this. Costco does have exceptional customer service.

    • I agree with you !00%. I’m very discussed with BJ’s at this point! I like you spend a great deal of money in that store in Middletown, RI.

  10. I bought 10 bottles for myself and other people in my family. I checked all the bottles on the Blumen site and received the same response on all my bottles “The lot # you entered is neither included in this recall nor valid. See example above. If you need additional information contact Recall Support at 1-888-843-0254. The lot numbers and UPC numbers are correct. “Nor valid” ????

    • I would go to your local BJs and tell them you want a refund for the Blumen and they should give you a refund. That’s what alot of members in our Facebook group have done.

  11. I was in BJs this weekend. My store refused to return the hand sanitizer. I bought 8 over several weeks for my home, my husband’s work, my parents home and for my sister. They manager at my store was horrible, rude and down right lied to my face. I contacted BJs direct and was told it wasn’t on their recall list. If it was to come on that they would be issuing refunds to everyone. They had no idea when that would be… of course not. I have to say that was the worst experience with BJs (locally and with customer service) I have ever gotten from this company.

    • WOW! That stinks. I just updated the post with a message BJs wrote to one of our Facebook members. That’s a bummer there are so many miscommunications from club to club. Others in on our Facebook page have shared their club returned their sanitizers no problem and refunded the money on a gift card.

  12. The alternative hand sanitizer product shown is AWFUL! Read the reviews on BJs website for the BeSafe brand. My review was the first.

  13. Thanks for this post!!! Yikes!! I was so happy to see hand sanitizer back on the shelves…I’ve got 2 bottles that will be going back!
