3 Ways I’m Saving Money in 2015

I have a confession to make.  I have not purchased any coupon inserts for almost a year now.  Did I just hear a gasp from my readers?  You may be thinking how crazy that is, since I run a couponing website!

My responsibilities lately have been time consuming, and frankly, I just needed a break.

Instead of buying inserts, here are 3 ways I’m saving money this year (and it does not involve buying coupon inserts).

1. I’m using eCoupons.  As you may have noticed, I post frequently about Ibotta, Checkout 51, SavingStar (my absolute fav), and more recently, Jingit.  These programs are fantastic to stack on top of BJ’s store coupons and manufacturer coupons.  (Click the links to learn how the programs work!)

2. I’m using printable coupons.  This is the main reason I have not needed to buy coupon inserts.  With all of the great coupons that are free to print, I have done just fine with our budget.  The top 3 coupon outlets I use are Coupons.com, SmartSource and RedPlum.

3. I’m focusing on meal planning.  My goal is to use up what we have in our pantry each week, and focus on making meals based on sale items.  I’m also experimenting with healthier recipes for the family, and will be sharing them with you on the blog. (Yes, even the failures).

Will I ever buy a coupon insert again?  Probably.  For example, if I see a good coupon for peanut butter, I will buy multiple papers to stock up.
