It can be hard to know if you're getting a good deal on meat at the grocery store.
Meat is one of the most expensive items on your grocery list, so it's important to get the best price possible.
In this blog post, we compare the prices of meat at Aldi and BJ's Wholesale. We reveal who has the lower price.
So I saw the ad for Aldi this week, and on the top, it says this: “ALDI truth #38: We always offer the finest cuts. And that goes for our prices, too.”
Alright, Aldi, I'm putting you to the test for local prices here in western New York. Prices vary by region so that yours could be higher or lower.
I have been getting most of our meat from BJ's Wholesale; my husband is a hunter, so we eat a lot of venison, but I know their prices are lower than Tops, unless Tops has a fantastic sale, and are usually cheaper than Walmart.
I haven't priced check them against Walmart in a while, which is why in the next few days, I will be doing that as well.
I love shopping at both of these stores. I shop at Aldi for our milk, and when they have killer prices on their products like this week, grapes are just $0.79/lb.
* Side note that BJ's cuts their meat in-store and promises high-quality meat and no antibiotics.
So here it goes.
Aldi vs. BJ's Wholesale.

AND THE WINNER IS……..
BJ's!!!
You may be saying that it is cheaper because you pay a membership fee, so Aldi is cheaper. Hold on. NOT TRUE!
Grab a $25 BJ's Membership deal for the entire year HERE.
Here's a little diagram and an article about meat consumption. Saying we eat an average of 102.5/lbs of meat in one year? WHOA… When you read further down in the article, it showed in 2012; we dipped a bit. But let's go with this number.
You have five people in your family. That's 512.5/lbs of meat in one year. Just about one whole cow, right?!
Ok, so let's say your family is consuming 512.5 lbs. of meat in a year. BJ's is an average of $0.56/lb. Cheaper for all hearts than the advertised price currently at Aldi.
By buying your meat from BJ's you would save your family $286 a year!
You would be spending way more on just your meat even when you factor in your $50 membership fee. I suggest splitting the membership fee with someone only making it $25. But with all the BJ's coupons and stacks with manufacturer's coupons, the $50 will be well worth it! You can try BJ's out for 90 days FREE here.
But with that said, you do have to know your prices. But my opinion is if you don't want to mess around with all the coupons and doubling and transactions, then BJ's is the way to go. Just using their coupon booklet is simple and will save you money.
Love It? Pin It!

A few of the items you can see a really huge difference between the two of them and it really does show that BJ”s really has a much better deal.
