Baby Love, My Baby Love

So….. guess what?  Can you guess? Yep!  Did the title of the post give it away too easily?  I’m pregnant!

I’m 9 weeks along, and I thought I would finally let everyone know the good news.  Alright, you got me.  I just couldn’t keep it a secret anymore!

Today, I logged onto Baby Center to read about the baby’s development this week.  He/she is 1 inch long and about the size of a grape!  Wow!  Not too long ago, the baby was the size of a poppy seed, and then a lima bean.  Now a grape!  Amazing!

I have 5 children, so you’d think that being pregnant would seem run-of-the-mill.  Not at all.  Far from it!  I am always in awe of the gift of life.  I remember fondly, the ultrasound picture from my last son, where he was sucking his thumb!

You can be sure that I’ll be adding lots of good stuff to my “Oh, Baby!” Pinterest board.  I even took a spin into the baby section of Target, yesterday.  I stood there marveling about how this is happening again. Part of me is still shocked, but I’m really getting excited.

We gave away all the baby things, because we thought we didn’t need them anymore.  All we have left are the high-chair and changing table.  However, I’m going to keep things super simple.  A baby doesn’t need much.  I’ll probably get a co-sleeper, car seat and stroller, clothes and a bouncy toy for when the baby is a bit older. I’ll be buying the car seat new, but may get second-hand items for the rest.  🙂

So far, things are going very well.  I’ve had a couple of doc appointments.  Please pray with me that the pregnancy remains healthy and uneventful.  I’m doing all I can to be healthy for baby grape!
