Not anymore since I’m too old now, but someday I’ll do it for my future kids, getting handmade advent calendars (not like fancy wooden ones or whatever, but small gifts every day, mine was always socks, like a pair from the old navy 6 packs or the $1 ones from Target).

Obviously mine will be going to families houses and spending time with them. But our own tradition that I love is every Christmas Eve my daughter’s elf brings a gift with a movie, pjs, and snacks and we all watch it together. Jan 2019 we lost our house to a fire and we haven’t bought a Christmas tree yet. Last Christmas her elf drew a tree on several sheets of paper and tapped them together and tapped it to the wall and that was our tree. Hoping to be able to get a tree this year

Growing up, my family always celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve. We’d go to mass, my dad would make a fantastic spread while the kids opened their stockings, and then we’d sit down and open gifts together. Now I have my own family and we still celebrate with my side on Christmas Eve. My kids are young so we are still figuring out our “own” traditions. This year will be a lot of firsts with COVID.

And our magical wooden Christmas calendar we have our kids do something silly like tap it and spin around and I will twirl it and slip a candy (mini chocolates) in and say Let’s see if he answered. Our favorite Christmas tradition is going to a German catering hall in a county nearby where we live for a Breakfast with Santa. The catering hall is rustic. They decorate the place with Christmas villages on either side of the hall. They have a yummy buffet breakfast. Santa & Mrs Claus come out and every family can take a picture with them. This year we are going but its 25% capacity and temperature checked at the door. I am a little nervous about going. It may even be cancelled since Covid cases are going up so we will see what happens. Hopefully it won’t be cancelled.

I don’t have a tree anymore,I have some decorations&I would be thrilled to have any tree, but I’d find a family in need-tough year-I’m creative,I can use what I have&get busy-even add to the tree-I have small gifts I pickup during the year & …Happy Holidays!

All my family gathers at my house on Christmas eve now that Mon is older., We each make a special dish to bring and exchange our yankee swap. Normally around 30 people attend, that allows the families to stay home on Christmas.

Our family would have a tree trimming party with my mom , dad , my daughter and her husband and my grandchildren. It was the happiest as we were all together trying to figure out the lights 😂 I wish I had those days back again as my parents are not with us anymore 😔 treasure these times with your family as every year changes .

Growing up in a divorced family it was always my favorite to be with my dad’s family on Christmas Eve and then my mom’s family on Christmas day! It was always Christmas overload with lots of fun and extra love!! I am still luck enough to have most of my grandparents and still get these special times with them and now my daughter too!

Our favorite Christmas tradition is decorating the tree together. My girls , now 22 and 24 get a kick out of all the homemade ornaments I have saved over the years. I have ornaments that I made that my mom saved too.

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is pajamas. Every year Jake (our elf) brings my 3 boys new Christmas pjs on Christmas Eve. The boys even talk about how they don’t need pjs because Jake always bring them a pair.
