I would surprise each of my kids and grandkids with a monetary stocking stuffer. Then put the rest aside in my emergency fund.
I would use the money to pay off some bills and buy a few extra Christmas gifts.
I would buy toys & some clothes for each of our 5 grandchildren.
I would spend much of what was left to buy clothes, blankets, bottles, diapers, & bibs for our church layette program.
Each year we make up layette packs. Each one includes a crib blanket, a receiving blanket, an outfit, a sleeper, a onesie, a bib, socks or booties, 6 disposable diapers, & a bottle. They are then packed up & we deliver them to hospitals in Macomb County that deliver babies. The Social Worker distributes them to mother’s that deliver a baby & have little or nothing for the child. We also take them to Social Services to be given out in the community.
This has been a special project for me since I joined the church 19 years ago. I took over leadership of it 3 years ago. At Mother’s Day 2019, we donated 220 of these much needed packages.

I’d say bills but the dreamer side of me would use it for a Disney Vacation. We’ve never been as a family and my kids really want to go.

Half of it I would use to buy diapers and formula. The other half I would give to my mom so that she can purchase new clothes for herself.
I would use it to plan a small babymoon for my husband and I (we’re expecting our first in a month). We wanted to do one, but we’ve been very focused on saving to take care of some house projects that were a necessity to get done before our little girl joins the family. The current plan is to have a nice date night in a couple weeks with a good dinner and then go see the new Star Wars movie on opening night (a tradition since Disney started releasing new ones).

I don’t want or need anything and would have a blast looking and buying al! The cool toys that would make some kids really happy!
I would use the money to re stock everything I’m low on ( paper towels, toilet paper.. ) then by new sheets and towels, a new toaster oven, winter tires for my car.
The bulk would go to Diapers and Wipes for my 1 year old granddaughter. Then I would stock up on household items, lastly I would would buy some canned food and donate to my local food bank.

I would spend it on my dogs and cat. The vet is so expensive here. I have had to put off some stuff for them because emergencies came up. They deserve way more.
First, I’d get my broken tooth repaired. Then, I’d take my very sick cat, who’s also my service animal, to the vet. The money would pay for those costly tests to see what’s wrong with her.
I would fund part of my emergency fund.
Finally be able to replace my mattress so we can get a decent night’s sleep
Invest most of it and have fun with a little of it.
I would rip out the rust colored rug that we’ve had for 37 years and put a laminate floor in . It’s past the worn out stage
I would give a couple of hundred dollars to homeless people; I will use another $500 dollars to pay towards my credit cards and the rest will go towards my wife for a date night.
$200 for my favorite charities and the rest towards the January insurance deductible for my cochlear implant surgery!

If I had a $1,000 it would go it towards the deductible, hazardous materials testing, and renovations not fully covered by insurance for the flooding that occurred in our home while we were gone on Thanksgiving Day due to a broken second floor water line. It’s been a rough go, but we are so thankful no one was hurt and the damage can eventually be repaired.

We were hit hard with our cat’s sudden illness. She was in the vets ICU with diabetes issues and now on insulin twice a day. Our power steering pump also went on our car and I also had a root canal, not covered by insurance.
