For about two months I was told my daughter was allergic to dairy. Not a sensitivity they told me allergic. It was during a very stressful time while we were on our spending freeze. My whole shopping had to change. She was breaking out in rashes and so congested and wheezing.
It was a very stressful time. Two months later we saw an allergist and she was skin tested and had zero allergies. The craziest thing all her symptoms stopped as well. The allergist was concerned about her rash and wanted to see us in a few weeks after eliminating soaps and such. The rash didn't come back after that. I have no idea what it was but for three straight months it was a battle.
It can be hard enough to find lunchbox fillers you and your kids agree on when your child doesn’t have food allergies and sensitivities. When they do, it’s downright daunting. We get it. That’s why BJ's is working hard to simplify their allergy labeling.
BJ's new Wellsley Farms labels the allergens are in bold to make them stand out. You can also find a bold sentence indicating if an item contains allergens or if it might contain allergens because these were present in the facility where it was produced.
Below is a list of kid and allergy friendly snack options at the club to help you have a smooth transition for Back to School.

In your post you state best for allergies and see “wheat, gluten (sensitivity)” What does this mean exactly? Are you saying only safe if you have gluten sensitivity and NOT SAFE FOR PEOPLE WITH CELIAC DISEASE OR INTOLERANCE TO GLUTEN????
SEE how confusing this posting is???? Thanks!!
Tasia
That means people who have allergies to wheat, gluten etc. Those would be a good item.
Brian
Celiacs should read GF labels carefully. Some items with “Gluten Free” labeling on the front of the packaging – disclose in the fine print that the product was made on shared equipment that processes wheat. That makes the item contain gluten – period. It’s a shame that manufacturers are allowed to use the GF labeling, when, in fact -it’s technically not. I don’t care what the PPM standards are – if it states GF, it should GF (completely) – not just the product, but throughout production / packaging, etc …
lisa
thank you but be careful with posting items as safe for peanut allergy just because peanuts are not in the ingredients. some of these products are not produced in a nut free facility thus could have had cross contact with peanuts/nuts still.
that said i went to BJs for the first time since i had a child w a peanut allergy and was ECSTATIC to see multiple items and brands sold in the bakery section that were made in a peanut and nut free facility! and they taste good! thank you BJs for carrying them!!! you have made our house very happy with yummy cookies!! (fancy pants crunch cookies).
Tasia
Thank you, Lisa. I’ll have to pass that info on to BJ’s as they gave me the wording for this post! Glad you had some different options to choose from at BJ’s!
Miriam
Get them to carry items from Enjoy Life, Earths Best, yummy…so many more

I would reach out to BJs directly and let them know what club location and such you want to see items. You never know. Or maybe reach out to the companies you listed to see if they could express interest in their product at BJs.

Was interested, but sceptical because my food allergy list is quite long. Sure enough, not a single food on the list I could have. Most contain dairy.
Pat
You mention Wellesley Farms Animal Crackers as being friendly to nut allergies. However, on the label it states in bold that they are made in a bakery that uses peanuts and tree nuts.
We really appreciate the article and the fact that Wellesley Farms does print those warnings so clearly on the label, but I would be careful about promoting the animal crackers as allergy friendly.
Tasia
Thank you Pat! This post was a sponsored post by BJ’s Wholesale. Meaning they asked to put Wellesley Farms Animal Crackers in the post. Thank you for letting us know the label says it is not friendly to nut allergies.

Allergy info–Are the Wesley Farms pecans at BJs safe from cross contamination with peanuts?
Tasia
That is a great question. I am not sure you would have to contact BJ’s customer service.
