I am sad to say that BJ’s Wholesale Club is open on Easter Sunday this year 2017, with one exception. All stores in Maine will be closed on Easter Sunday.
In the past, BJ’s has been closed on Easter Sunday and this year they are open from 9 a.m.- 5 .p.m.

I’ve been a member of BJ’s for many years. It’s been my favorite store.
The two main membership department store competitors of BJ’s — Sam’s Club and Costco — are closed on Easter Sunday 2017. Why is BJ’s open? It’s primarily a “stock up store” not a place people need to go in an emergency. Convenience stores and pharmacies need to be open for people who need first aid supplies, milk, etc. Who would go to BJ’s if they need over-the-counter medicine in an emergency?
Please, BJ’s management, respect the majority of your customers who are Christian. We do not like to see other Christian FORCED to work on the most important Christian holiday!
HI Rob! I was really disappointed to see they were open on Easter as well. I agree with the point of most people go there to stock up, but I know plenty of people who run in to get bread, milk and a couple snacks as well! ( Me for example, I do it ALL The time!) Also, I would reach out to BJ’s and share your opinion too, they always say they want to hear their members. I know corporate employees sometimes check out my website but they probably won’t see this comment. I appreciate you sharing your opinion with us though! Hope you had a wonderful Easter celebrating that he is indeed RISEN! 🙂
