BJ's Wholesale club has partnered with Humble Design. It is a non profit serving families and veterans rising above homelessness through transforming an empty house into a dignified and welcoming home. As a current BJ's member this makes my heart happy to see a corporation giving back to those in need.

“We believe in restoring dignity to every family that has suffered homelessness,” said Kari Nies, development manager, Humble Design. “We are grateful for BJ’s Wholesale Club’s support in our mission of transforming empty houses into warm, welcoming and uplifting homes.”
BJ’s team members also volunteered for two days to get the houses ready for the families.
BJ’s Wholesale Club stocked the pantries of both homes with household essentials from its exclusive collection of Berkley Jensen® products like paper towels, bath tissue, laundry detergent, disinfecting wipes, dishwasher pacs, soap, trash bags, hand sanitizer and kitchen utensils like food storage sets and mixing bowls.
The retailer also stocked the kitchens with key items from its exclusive Wellsley Farms® collection including bottled water, granola bars, olive oil, coffee, trail mix and more. Lastly, BJ’s brought the entertainment and donated a new TV to each family. BJ’s also made a monetary donation.
“BJ’s Wholesale Club’s commitment to nourishing families starts in the home,” said Kirk Saville, executive director, BJ’s Charitable Foundation. “We’re honored to work with Humble Design to further its vision of creating stability for those affected by homelessness. Our team had a wonderful time volunteering and was moved by the emotion and joy felt by the impacted families.”
Humble Design serves families and veterans emerging from homelessness by transforming empty houses or apartments into homes with donated household goods and furniture. The newly furnished homes serve as the catalyst for improved family dynamics, give families the confidence for a fresh start and provide a launching point for new careers.
