I didn’t really have a stuff animal growing up since I grow up in the Philippines. I just remember playing outside a lot.
I also had a favorite stuffed turtle as a child. I read in the comments that somebody else did too! The one near my father lost his job oh, well got laid off from the steel mill. That was the only gift I received that year and I loved it so much that it did not matter.

A white stuffed teddy bear my dad got me for Valentine’s when i was 7, I named it “Harold” after him. He had a little tear in his armpit because my brother took him from me and i was trying to get him back and he ripped. I took that bear everywhere with me. Yes he was a stuffed Spuds McKenzie. When he got a hole in him my dad sewed him. He had to have sewed him at least a hundred times or that’s what it seemed being so young lol.

This is a really cherished memory, my parents took me to Macy’s In Herald Square in NYC to see Santa. I got a beautiful plush Eskimo puppet with a teal colored outfit and fur around the hood. I called her Elki. I can still picture her.

My favorite stuffed animal when I was a kid was a bear that was given to me by a nurse in the hospital when I had my tonsils out. I was 8. Over the years Puff has lost an eye (which I replaced with one that doesn’t match well), got skinnier and had a few holes which needed stitching. Many times I have thought it was time to let him go but here we are 45 years later and we are still together.

Effie Lou was my favorite stuffed doll. My grandmother made her for me and a similar one for every granddaughter after me. All had the middle name Lou. Effie Lou, Mary Lou, Cindy Lou, Betty Lou, and I can’t remember the others. And she made us tons of clothes to go with the dolls too…sewn, crocheted, and knitted outfits. Good memories.

Dont remember if I had one but my daughter had a soft stuffed doll named Ugly that she took everywhere. She was called ugly because by the time she could talk the doll had been washed and mended so many times she was truly “ugly”. Ugly has now been passed down to my granddaughter, I am still mending her lol.
