some tips for a dutch oven :
- Pretty enough to go from oven to table; perfect for stews, chilis, and braises.
- Cast-iron core retains heat and cooks evenly.
- Oven-safe up to 500°F.
- Basting spikes in the lid control moisture, keeping food juicy.
- Dutch ovens serve a specific purpose and can go from stovetop to oven, unlike other dishes. However, they are not for “dry” cooking. This is for soups, stews…things with fluid in them.
Don't ever use metal utensils with them!!
