Earlier this month, I told you about The Polar Express train ride that is available through the end of December. Since we had the day after Thanksgiving off from work, we thought it was the perfect time to go make some memories, and kick off Advent a little early! We kept this as a complete surprise for the children, until we pulled into the station parking lot.
We picked up our tickets and the kids could barely contain their excitement. Finally, the Conductor yelled, “All aboard!” The kids scrambled onto the train eager to find their seats.
Here was our train car! It was fun to see the old fashioned train in person. I think I was just as excited as the kids to get on board.
Once we settled in, the train started moving, and it wasn't long before we were served Hot! Hot! Hot chocolate and a cookie. The soundtrack to The Polar Express movie played on the speakers. Everyone was encouraged to get up and dance. This was not a stuffy, boring train ride! The kids' excitement grew when they realized we were heading to the North Pole!
Here are the kids dancing and having a great time!
Next, the Elves boarded the train and talked to the children. The Conductor came around and punched holes into everyone's golden ticket. We were all chatting with the Elves when out of the blue…
The entire train erupted in shouts and applause!
As Santa came down the aisle, he gave a bell to each child. Of course, we had to shake them to see if we TRULY believe!
Santa was very gracious and visited with each child. He spent a long time with us, talking about presents and Christmas. My daughter wanted to try on his glasses. Santa didn't mind her curiousness. Thanks, Santa!
As you can see, the kids couldn't stop talking about Santa, the North Pole, and ringing their bells.
I will never forget the joy on their faces. We had such a blast together. I have to say that the kids (and the parents) enjoyed every single minute of the trip. All my children woke up talking about the trip this morning, and asking if we can go again.
The train staff was very accommodating and courteous. They did a great job performing and interacting with the guests.
I highly recommend this ride for families. If you have very young children, The Polar Express will really make a big impression on them.

This is such a fantastic activity that I'm sure my kids would love. They'd go crazy over riding on a fun train and going to the North Pole. It would be such an adventure. The kids in your pictures look overjoyed. Thank you for sharing this!
