7 Absolutely Necessary Pantry Items to Get at BJs

Meal planning is one area I feel very strongly in, because once you do it, you know you save a ton of money on food expenses.

Because whether you love it or hate it, we all agree going out to eat is way more expensive then cooking at home.

Broth

I was so excited to see BJ's bring on Vegetable broth. I love having beef, chicken and vegetable broth in the pantry. It's and easy grab at BJs, because you get enough to last you a few months. PLUS there are usually BJ's coupons and even gas deals on these items.

You can score these online and use pick up and pay or try Instacart. I have my review on my Instacart order here.

My favorite is Imagine Organic Low-Sodium Chicken Broth, 6 ct./32 oz. $12.99 but currently has a clipless coupon for $1.50 off.

Canned Tomatoes

You can do so many things with canned tomatoes. From sauces, to chili the list goes on. Hunt's Diced Tomatoes, 8 pk./14.5 oz. is $6.49.

YEAST

If you are going to be doing a lot of baking, or even making your own pizza crust yeast is the cheapest price at BJs. Sure you get a ton of it. Give one to a neighbor or friend. Keep the other one in your fridge. I get about a year shelf life on one pack in the fridge before it won't rise as well.

My favorite one is Fleischmann's Instant Dry Yeast, 2 pk./1 lb. $4.99.

Real Maple Syrup

My husband asks why I still use this from BJs when we could get Aunt Jemima for way less. Now that my kids have grown up on it, and it's the most affordable at BJs, I'm sticking with it. I like to use maple syrup in my baked goods instead of sugar.

My favorite is Wellsley Farms Organic Grade A Dark Maple Syrup, 32 oz. $10.99.

Flour

King Arthur flour is my favorite but Gold Medal works well and it's super cheap. Throw in a BJ's coupon and you can get TWO. You can choose from organic and whole wheat and gluten free flour as well.

My favorite is King Arthur All Purpose Unbleached Flour, 12 lbs. $7.29

Chocolate Chips

This is such a great pantry item. When you are craving a little something sweet, or need to whip up a batch of cookies. The big bag at BJs gives you freedom to make several batches of sweets a month.

My favorite is Nestle Toll House Morsels, 72 oz. $9.79 .

EVOO

I'm here to tell you oil is a good deal at BJs. I've read plenty of articles where oil can be on the not to buy list, because it will go bad before you use it. Here in 2020 I'm finding a lot of smaller bottles that are affordable.
