If you have been a BJ’s member for the past year or so, you are familiar with the high shipping charges for members. Back in 2019, BJ’s quietly announced their 2-day shipping service. But many weren’t thrilled about it because of the cost anyways. We had over 10,000 members in our Facebook group, and many were upset about the cost to members.
Then BJ’s offered curbside pickup with more convenience and a free way to pick up groceries without having to go inside.
Well, now, near the end of 2021, BJ’s is offering a flat rate shipping fee of $8.99 when you buy three or more select items.
Sounds exciting, right? $8.99 might not be so bad for a huge pack of Toilet paper, a big tub of Persil, and then a nice big pack of kids’ snacks. It may be worth the $8.99 you save in gas, depending on where you live.
Wrong.
Right now, the flat rate shipping is good on FIVE items.
That’s it. Of course, this may be expanded on, but why announce it like it’s exciting for five items that do not cost a lot to ship.
*UPDATE: Did BJs hear me?! As of 10/1/2021, they have updated their $8.99 flat rate shopping to over THOUSANDS of items now online. That is exciting and could make shopping online pretty convenient.
