The Covid-19 pandemic has all sorts of restrictions going on among retailers. Now at BJ's fresh meat purchases are being limited.
Members in our Facebook group have shared their restrictions at BJs. Here in New York state our local BJ's and other grocery stores like Tops, have put a limit of one fresh meat package per member.
In New York state we are required to wear masks in public, but BJ's along with Costco has now implemented a face mask covering policy in their stores.
BJ's Wholesale club does offer a senior shopping time. Many have emailed me about the long lines for the senior hour, and others have said it was better to go around the 10 am time.
You will notice arrows in the clubs to encourage members to shop in one direction and have less people crowding the lanes.
Six feet social distancing is expected. Each club has capacity limits.
” Starting Saturday, April 4, 2020, BJ’s will limit the number of members allowed inside clubs at one time. The number of members allowed in clubs will vary by location based on the square footage of each club.
No more than 20% of a club’s total capacity will be allowed in the building at any given time. When possible, all members are encouraged to send only one person per household to shop in-club. This policy will help promote social distancing efforts and ensure a safer environment for members and team members.”
And now limits on items hoping to ensure more members are able to purchase merchandise they want and need.
I'm okay with the limits given the circumstances. This way at least we can shop weekly and know there will be something.
For Costco members they are giving members a limit of three fresh meat purchases.
The meat restrictions comes from the outbreaks happening in meat processing plants.

Was very upset last time I went in the syracuse store a week ago , they require face coverings to get INSIDE but do nothing to enforce it once inside so a number of others were walking around with their face masks around their necks , and not social distancing in aisles only at checkout where enforced. When I told the front end person I was upset by people without masks she said they could do nothing about it….which was bull crap …

Wow, the limits on meat products I think is going to be in place for a while . For large families it’s going to be hard , need to take your spouse with you shopping so both of you can get a package.

Thank you

Hey ya used my picture 🙂 LOL I’m like hey why does that look so familiar?! Crazy they are making people choice which meats they want if they choose too much. I think they should limit it to maybe 3 meats in any combo. Some people don’t eat beef but eat chicken so let them choose 3 Chicken instead of one of each meat. On another note that Three Bean & Sweet Potato Chilli sounds pretty good!!!

There is no meat shortage. There has been a reduction in production. For anyone living in the Kissimmee area, we have seem no problems in getting what we want for meat, produce, and such from the Hispanic supermarkets.

I have no problem with this …they’re all doing it. This is the only fair way to handle the shortage.
On another note …while BJ’s has the KitchenAid 5 qt. Artisan Mixer on sale for 249.99 in 3 colors + free s/h, Bed Bath & Beyond is selling it for 279.99 MINUS their ‘”always available” 20% off coupon, and it’s currently available in 10 colors. This makes the final price 223.99 + free s/h …that’s $26 less than BJ’s!

Thanks for the tip!

BJs here in Florida allows one fresh meat in each of the three categories – chicken, beef, and pork — per the sign you posted.
