Hey friends! During this crazy time, BJ’s has made a new announcement, they will no longer accept any paper coupons in order to reduce touch points and help mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.
*UPDATE as of 7/20. Select BJs have allowed paper coupons again. You can read the update here. Word from some BJs employees is the next BJs booklet will be paper coupons again.
This is a good thing, and they made sure to remind us that BJs coupon savings are NOT going away. We don’t need to clip coupons from what I’m understanding. They will automatically be deducted at the register. You’ll see the savings on the product price signs throughout the club and on BJs.com.
I would imagine Smartsource, Redplum and other coupon inserts in the newspaper will be temporarily paused as well.
I would imagine when this is all over, BJs will allow manufacturer paper coupons and BJs paper coupons again.
Only time will tell at this point. Share your thoughts/concerns below.

Will be cancelling my BJ’s membership if I can’t use manufactures coupons!
I don,t have a phone to down load to app. Will I still be able to get the saving? This ref. to the digital coupon.
you will have to go to bjs.com create a sign in and add coupons that way.
I wish they’d keep it this way. It’s like Costco, no need to ever scan coupons.
They may you never know.
Miss seeing the list or pictures of coupons, like for the front of the club coupons for late March/April. Or did I miss the post?
No I haven’t been to BJs in 3 weeks. When this is all over they will be posted like normal. 🙂
One use or multiple uses per item though? Previously we could use as many paper coupons as we had but the digital coupon only worked once. The coupon book plus digital meant at least two uses per item. Now that everything is clipless/digital, how many items per coupon?
Think of it as a clipless coupon in club- or an instant savings. We are not required to clip anything now. All the coupons are just a sale price in BJs. There won’t be a limit unless stated on the item in club.
That might be the intention but I went to BJ’s today and it wasn’t the case. The clipless/automatic coupons, which are posted on the price tags, only worked once per item. I had to go to customer service to fix three that weren’t deducted.
Purchased three of the same item that had a coupon available. Customer service confirmed that digital coupons can be used one time only. They refused to apply the coupon discount to the other two items I purchased. Customer service stated that single use electronic coupons will be the standard going forward – will not apply coupon to multiples of same item.
Yep the digital coupons have always been a one time use only, which really stinks.
One digital coupon, one item. Period! No chance to download 2 or more for multiple like items as before. And no manufacturers coupons either. Said they don’t want to touch them…what about paper money… a lot more germs on money!
Hopefully it will go back to normal soon.
How do you attach manufacturer coupons? I am not tech savvy at all. Thanks 😊.
They will be in the BJs app like normal when available. The usual way you would clip BJs coupons.

Do you mean I can put manufacturers emails in the app too? I didn’t see how I could do this when I went today. Being able to use manufacturers coupons was the reason I chose BJs.
