BJ's Wholsale club announced it has released a bunch of new updates to it's app. Over two years ago we shared the update of BJs giving members an app. Now with the updates they are driving members towards incentives.
BJ's Wholesale club has been steadily trying to keep up with current trends. In 2017 they introduced their mobile site, and started rolling out scan as you go. In 2018 they offered paypal as a form of payment.
Now this year they rolled out two day shipping and online only memberships!
BJs app now has the option to scan items for pricing. This is something you find in most retailer apps today. It will be helpful for all those clearance end cap deals!
I found it interesting they have recipes on the app. It's convenient and has all the ingredients right from BJs. Sure makes meal planning easier.

In the brand-new ‘My BJ’s’ area of the app, members will see the value of their BJ’s membership in one easy stop. ‘My BJ’s’ will show members their yearly savings, local BJ’s Gas® price, gas savings earned through the Gas Savings Program and previous orders whether they were online or in-club. ‘My BJ’s’ will also show members in the My BJ’s Perks® Program total Awards available as well as how much more they need to spend to reach their next Award.
BJ’s is also bringing a fresh take on the wholesale club experience with its new Challenge gamification feature in its app. Also located within the ‘My BJ’s’ area of the app, the Challenge area will offer members new experiences and challenges for a chance to earn incentives. The challenges will help members experience everything BJ’s has to offer in a fun and unique way. Challenges will be introduced periodically and can range from visiting a sample station in club to trying a new service BJ’s is offering.
Other major updates to the BJ’s app include a complete redesign, making it easier for members to navigate the app, shop their desired products and experience everything BJ’s has to offer.
The redesign includes the addition of shoppable recipes through BJ’s Same-Day Delivery, makes in-club services, such as checking in to pick up an online order, easier and more prominent and gives members access to a digital version of their membership card. Of course, member-favorite features like digital coupons will still be available in the app.
