Yesterday was a semi-decent day in trying to go gluten-free. However, I had soup from a can for lunch and realized afterward that I was feeling ill from it. I found a second can in my pantry and read the label. Everything seemed fine as the main ingredients were potatoes and chicken stock. Then, I found it – WHEAT! I guess they used it as a thickener in this creamy soup. No wonder my face was red, my skin was itchy and I felt lousy.
I'm determined not to eat processed foods as much as possible. However, if I'm going to grab anything that comes in a package, I need to read the labels first.
Lesson learned!
