I have never tried a diet in my life.
I’ve made changes to my food habits for sure but have never been one to say I’m on this diet. Even now, I wouldn’t go as far as to say I’m on the Keto diet, but I’m grabbing some Keto baking items and eating more protein and higher fat foods, and cutting back on carbs.
My husband has type one diabetes, so this is a “diet” that works for him. Of course, all in moderation. However, he still needs some carbs, and heck, I do too.
As I was reading some other Keto blogs and adding this delicious low carb grain-free tag a long bar recipe to my Pinterest account, I was able to score some deals at BJs.

I shared this excellent deal when I first saw it at our local club in Batavia, New York, it sold out quickly in the Rochester Area stores, and I still saw some at Batavia just the other day, and it’s April.

We tried the Hormel ( and I have been splurging for the higher cost of having it premade. I do not want to fry up bacon every morning even though it’s the best and easiest to throw it in the oven.) I think the BJs brand didn’t leave a strange aftertaste like Hormel. And the pieces were thinner.

I am enjoying the mashed cauliflower, riced cauliflower with Parmesan cheese, fresh veggies and of course those routesserie chickens. I have been keto since October 3, 2018 and have already put type 2 diabetes in remission and stopped diabetic meds. I stuck to the plan and another 9-10 lb weight loss during the holidays. It is an amazing way of eating. I do have a MD monitoring me and it is going extremely well. Stopped in after appointment today to pick up smaller yoga pants.
I definitely want to try and cut down on my carbs. Thanks.
Thanks for the tips! I have found cases of Sparkling Ice, flavorful and carb and sugar free at BJs for about .65 a bottle. A case of 24 lasts me close to a month. Ive been in ketosis for about nine weeks and have lost 40 pounds. Easy when you have such a great variety of foods to choose from.

FWIW, Truvia baking blend isnt keto, that particular blend has cane sugar in it mixed with Truvia. 🙂
Thanks, Julianne- yes it does have real sugar in it but the amount is so minimal for us starting with a low sugar mix it’s a perfect transition. And for $6.98?! There is less than 1 g of sugar in a 1/2 tsp. 🙂
I really enjoyed reading this post since me and my husband are considering the keto diet. They are some definite items I will keep my eye out for. I do not enjoy cooking bacon myself. I hate the grease splatter and having to clean up the skillet afterwards and having to pull out the heavy bacon press to keep it from curling up. I have not been too happy with other brands of pre-cooked bacon so I am going to add this to my need to try list.

Is Bjs as good about returning things you don’t like as Costco is?? I’ve had so many things we ended up not liking but never took back.
I’ve never had a problem returning items to BJs.
I am not a fan of the smoke flavor they add to the horned. I’ll have to try the BJs brand of pre-cooked bacon.

I think I’d rather cook my own bacon, but it does make a mess. Sometimes I cook the pound and put in frig for warming up later, or even eat cold lol
