MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
We bought a three-piece set from BJ's last year. We were looking for a set to sit and lounge at. Not necessarily eat. It was under $300 for all of it. When price comparing this was a great deal for the quality of the pillows and furniture. After one year I would say it is fade resistant.
This side deck gets all the morning and afternoon sun. When we first bought it I brought the pillows inside when it rained. That lasted probably through three rain storms. Now I just leave them out and they dry out and hold up great! Of course, bringing the pillows inside would probably be the best way to keep the set looking new.

Every club will vary on the patio sets available in-club. The nice part is the sets they are selling are set up and displayed for you to try before you buy. Bring in the kids and your spouse and sit at the table and see how it feels with everyone. Maybe the size you thought looked good doesn't really work once everyone is seated.
