It's been four years since Amazon has raised the price of a Prime Membership. What was $99 for a year membership will be raised to $119 a year.
For new and existing members. That's quite an increase 20% in fact. When BJ's Wholesale raised their membership fees this year it was only $5! If you are a Prime Member already the new fees will start on June 16.
Why the Increase?
Amazon states the increase will support the growing number of items available to Prime members and more content on Prime Video.
Is it Still Worth It?
For me personally, yes. If I didn't realize how far Prime Video has come I may cancel it. Yet, there are SO many good shows now on Prime for the whole family that even if you only got TV, movies, etc on prime it's still only $9.91 per month.
You can sign up to try Prime for 30 days FREE here.
That's still cheaper than cable right!?
That's just one of the reasons I will still keep my Prime Membership. You can read the other 5 reasons I think it's worth it here.

Honestly, I’ve shopped on Amazon since they began and they could charge $200 for Prime and I’d still keep it!
Liz Burrell
I will definitely continue my membership, if, for no other reason than prime music and reading. I love getting a free book every month!

Tasia, thanks for highlighting the perks of Amazon Prime. You mention cutting cable and enjoying what Prime Video offers – can you get episodes of HGTV shows, for example?

Bummer but I started ordering more from Amazon and it definitely helps to get most stuff in 2 days. Some of the shopping prices are high and take forever so I can’t complain too much.
