Download and Use the BJ's App to Your Advantage
One of the easiest ways to uncover BJ's clearance deals is by using BJ's app. You can download the app for free on both Apple and Android devices.
Once you have the app installed, you can use the scanner feature to scan any item in the store, and the app will show you the item's current price and any discounts or clearance deals available.
That is the barcode you see in the search bar at the top of the BJs app ( as shown in the picture above. That will open your camera, and you scan the barcode, and the price comes up.
It's also essential to ensure you set the app to the store location you're shopping at, or the clearance price won't be honored.
Does BJ's Have a Clearance Section?
Yes, they do. It's common to find clearance items on the back end caps, where they're meant to sit unnoticed. Don't forget to check the regular aisles too.
Many items end up on clearance due to seasonal changes, supplier changes, or even overstocking. So, keep your eyes open for little “discontinued” (d) tags on product labels as they indicate sales.
BJ's has a clearance section on its website, but most in-club clearance items will not appear there. It's still worth checking out, but they do not typically offer free shipping.
BJ's does have the $8.99 flat fee delivery on select items.
Look for Price Signs Marked with the Word “Price Reduced.”
BJ's constantly restocks its inventory; sometimes, it discontinues certain products.
When these products are removed from shelves, they're typically marked with the word “price reduced” on the price signs.
So, keep your eyes open for the highlighted and price-reduced signs throughout the store. When an item has a price reduced like the one below but does not have a little d or an * at the top, most likely, it is going to be a product BJ's carries still, but the packaging may be changing.
When you do see a d on the sign, that means discontinued. If you see a little * on the sign, that means seasonal typically. Both of these items will be leaving the shelves at some point.

Sometimes, you won't see any highlighted sign or price reduced on it, and the price will end at .96. This, too, is a hidden clearance item, and it is being discontinued. You will find a * on these signs typically.
These are typically items the store wants to move out. They are typically discounted 10% per week for a maximum savings of 60%. These are a bit harder to find and may end up on the endcaps of your store.

Product Code 2: The product is discontinued, and once it’s gone, it’s gone. I often see clipless coupons on these or, like below, the Price Reduced written right on the price tag. Our store has many of these sweet deals.
Product Code 7: A one-time buy -seasonal Christmas/Easter products.
Product Code 9: Products that will be sent back to the manufacturer for various reasons. They won’t be restocked and likely will be gone within seven days.
Clipless coupons appear next to the price and are automatically discounted at the register. You can stack BJ's coupons and manufacturer coupons with a clipless coupon.

BJ's Toy Clearance
I find BJ's starts their toy clearance earlier each year. You may discover toys on clearance before Christmas. During the holidays, BJ's runs pretty good deals on free shipping and extra discounts on their toy selection.
The toy section is minimal during the rest of the year, but they seem to fill at least two -four shelves during the holidays.
BJ's Clothing Clearance
This event happens a couple of times a year. The toy items get labeled with colored stickers, and the clearance price is on a sign. I've found items as low as $1.96 at BJ's.
There is a clothing clearance event going on now in clubs during September. BJ's does not offer any clothing online, in the club only.
Don't Be Afraid to Ask for Help
If you're having trouble finding clearance items, don't hesitate to ask one of the BJ's staff members. They're usually happy to help you and can direct you to a specific location where you can find your desired product or even give inside tips on upcoming sales.
Can I Look around BJ's without a Membership?
Yes, you can; most clubs do not check membership cards at the door like Costco. Even if they do, they allow you to browse the store before committing to a membership.
If you want to get a membership, sign up online here for only $20. Otherwise, the club will charge you the full membership price of $55.
